What the Rako WMS-600 is
The Rako WMS-600 is a 600W insert card for loads that need mains switching rather than dimming. It is the RAK8 counterpart of the in-line RMS-800. For eight switched circuits without cards, see the RAK8-S.
Where it sits in a Rako system
The WMS-600 plugs into one of the eight slots on a RAK8-MB motherboard and can be mixed with other RAK8 cards. It has no memory of its own: programming is stored on the motherboard, so cards can be swapped without reprogramming. It needs a RAK-LINK in a wired system or an RX-LINK in a wireless one. It is programmed in RASOFT Pro and controlled from Rako keypads, remotes and the Rako app. See the Rako RAK system.
Ratings and limits
- Maximum load: 600W
- Non-dimmable lighting, extractor fans and other switched mains outputs
Power and connection
The card takes power and control from the RAK8-MB, which runs from 230V AC 50Hz and needs a 10A Type B MCB. Rako's RAK8-MB instruction manual covers installation, which should be done by a competent electrician.
Fitting
Plugs into a RAK8-MB slot. The motherboard must be mounted vertically so its ventilation works.
Questions
What does the Rako WMS-600 fit into?
A slot on a RAK8-MB motherboard, which holds up to eight cards.
What is the difference between the WMS-600 and the RAK8-S?
The WMS-600 is one switched channel on a RAK8-MB; the RAK8-S is a board with eight switched outputs built in.
Does the WMS-600 work in a wireless Rako system?
Yes, when its RAK8-MB is connected through an RX-LINK. In a wired system it connects through a RAK-LINK.
