Terms and conditions
These terms apply to orders placed with Behind The Switch. By placing an order you agree to them.
The seller
Behind The Switch is the shop name. The contract is with the seller named on your order confirmation.
The products
We sell Shelly smart-home devices and Rako lighting-control products, plus the parts that go with them. We are an independent seller. We are not Shelly, Shelly Group, or Shelly Europe. Product photographs and descriptions are a guide. The specification on the product page and in the manual is the one to use for fitting.
Price
- Prices are in pounds and include VAT.
- Delivery is calculated at checkout from the parcel weight and the postcode.
- If a price is clearly a mistake, we may cancel the order and refund any payment.
The order
An order is an offer to buy. The contract starts when we accept it, which we do by confirming the order. We may refuse an order if the item is out of stock, the price is wrong, we suspect fraud, or the address is one we do not deliver to.
Payment
Payment is by card at checkout, through Stripe. We do not offer cheque, cash, or a credit account. We do not store your card number.
Delivery
We deliver in the United Kingdom only. Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are excluded. Scottish Highlands and remote islands are delivered at the surcharge shown at checkout. Delivery dates are estimates. Risk passes to you when the parcel is delivered. Ownership passes when we have been paid in full.
Cancellation
If you are buying as a consumer, you can cancel most orders within 14 days of receiving the goods, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Tell us within those 14 days, then return the goods within a further 14 days. The goods should be unused and, where you can, in the original packaging. You pay the cost of sending them back, unless they are faulty or not as described.
Returns
Unused items in the original packaging may also be returned within 30 days of delivery. Contact us before you post anything. We will tell you where to send it. Made-to-order items are not returnable unless they are faulty. If a handling charge applies, we will tell you before we process the return.
Faults
If goods are faulty or not as described, you can ask for a repair, a replacement or a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. The manufacturer’s warranty, where there is one, is in addition to those rights.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights. We are not liable for loss that was not a foreseeable result of our breach.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales deal with disputes.
