What the Rako RAK8-MB is
The Rako RAK8-MB is an 8-channel motherboard in a powder-coated galvanised steel case. It accepts the WMT-400, WML-300, WDA-600, WMS-600 and WM-CUB cards. For eight switched outputs without cards, see the RAK8-S.
Where it sits in a Rako system
It needs a RAK-LINK in a wired system or an RX-LINK in a wireless one. A RAK-LINK serves up to four RAK8-MBs (32 circuits); an RX-LINK serves up to two. Programming is stored on the motherboard, so cards can be swapped without reprogramming. See the Rako RAK system.
Ratings and limits
- Eight card slots
- Load per channel: set by the card fitted
- Up to four RAK8-MBs per RAK-LINK, or two per RX-LINK
Power and connection
It runs from 230V AC 50Hz and needs a separate 10A Type B MCB-protected supply; it has an internal 15A fuse. It communicates with its link unit over RS485. Rako's RAK8-MB instruction manual covers installation, which should be done by a competent electrician.
