What the Rako RLED30BOOST is
The Rako RLED30BOOST is a voltage booster for Rako's four-channel constant-voltage dimmers. Rako recommends it when the total load approaches or exceeds the primary dimmer's limit, as a more economical option than adding more dimmers. It is not a dimmer itself.
Where it sits in a Rako system
It takes its control from the PWM output of an RLED30CV4+ (wireless) or a WLED30CV4 (wired), so it works in either system. Up to 10 boosters can follow one primary dimmer. See all Rako wireless modules.
Ratings and limits
- 12V DC: 90W total on 3 channels, 120W on 4 channels
- 24V DC: 180W total on 3 channels, 240W on 4 channels
- Maximum 10 boosters per primary dimmer
Power and connection
It needs its own 12V or 24V DC supply rated for the connected load. It has a 2-way terminal for the supply and 5-way terminals for tape in and tape out. Rako's RLED30BOOST instruction manual covers installation.
Fitting
An in-line module measuring 172 x 46 x 40mm and weighing 142g, for a dry, ventilated position. It operates from +2°C to +40°C.
Questions
Does the Rako RLED30BOOST need programming?
No. It follows the PWM signal from the RLED30CV4+ or WLED30CV4.
Which dimmers does the RLED30BOOST work with?
The RLED30CV4+ and the WLED30CV4 only.
How many RLED30BOOST units can I add?
Up to 10 per primary dimmer.
Does the RLED30BOOST need its own power supply?
Yes. It needs a 12V or 24V DC supply rated for the tape it drives.
